Libya`s Joint Military Commission has pledged to support national conciliation between the two main military actors, and noted that it is against all forms of regional and inter-tribal conflicts. The statement was made after the meeting that took place in the city of Jadu on Monday.
The statement reassures that the parties involved are engaged in finding the means of cooperation and try to find the middle ground by supporting the military forces loyal to the government. Another sign of hope comes from the intention of the commission to establish a means of communication between the military and the relevant institutions of the war thorn state.
“Libya`s Joint Military Commission rejects all regional or inter-tribal debates and conflicts”, the statement said. It also added that it`s upmost necessary to finalize the steps towards a fair transition and an extensive national conciliation.
The Commission is made up of five senior military officers from the Libyan government and five chosen by General Khalifa Haftar. Its purpose is to maintain stability between the two parties and to find a way to deescalate the military situation from Libya.
